Sajuuk

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the game Homeworld, Sajuuk is a mythological entity or deity. While there is no universal religion among the former Kushan, (the new Hiigarans), almost all believe that in some form or another, Sajuuk -- the Great Maker, He Whose Hand Shapes What Is -- shapes the path of their destiny. Specifics vary widely from sect to sect. Some believe Sajuuk is a benign god who protected them in Exile and guided them to their home. Others view him as an uncaring deity whose actions follow their own, inexplicable design. From far in to the forgotten past of the Kushan people, there comes a damning prophecy that 'Sajuuk – He Whose Hand Shapes What Is – will return and herald the coming of the End Time.'

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

In Homeworld 2, Sajuuk is revealed to be an enormous derelict Progenitor warship lying dormant within the center of the galaxy, Balcora. How and why Sajuuk came to be in the centre of the galaxy is not explained within the game. Sajuuk is 'reactivated' by the Hiigarans when all three Hyperspace Cores are reunited within the vessel. Sajuuk has the ability to make tactical hyperspace jumps and is the only ship that is able to damage the planet killer deployed by Makaan against Hiigara at the end of the Homeworld 2 campaign. When the single player campaign is beaten it is said that Sajuuk is then used to open the Eye of Arran, which reactivates a massive network of long-dead Progenitor Hyperspace gates throughout the galaxy. This, in turn, creates a new found golden age to the universe.
