[edit] Performers

First off, bravo! I'm so excited that we get this again. :D

I'd recommend taking out 'Performers', though. I tried it here, and in my opinion it's just too much information for an infobox. --Masamage 03:47, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Why not just put the list of performers into its own section within the article and link to it from the infobox with the text "See below"? -- Denelson83 03:56, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Sure, I like that. I'll make it happen--except, wait! You already did it. X) Nice speed, there. --Masamage 04:00, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Much obliged. ;) -- Denelson83 04:01, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Now this template just needs to be placed into the articles for all other SM characters. -- Denelson83 04:03, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Is there any way to make the See below thingie automatic? we may have to change our titles from 'actresses' to 'actors' to make it work with Tuxedo Mask, but is this a good idea? - Malkinann 05:53, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Might be a good idea. Of the characters who had actors at all, I can't find any with less than three (and that's only Diana and Kakyuu). --Masamage 08:19, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

I agree, its useless! All we ever put in them is see bellow! Lego3400: The Sage of Time 16:49, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Statistics?

Should we put our "statistics" sections in this template? (blood type, dreams, etc.?) - Malkinann 05:13, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

No. These "statistics" aren't really encyclopedic. -- Denelson83 06:14, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Some may be, though... Age range, for one. - Malkinann 07:19, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Other Fields

Didn't we plan on having multiple debut fields... One for each Type (Anime, manga and PGSM)? also didn't we also plan on have a relatives field? --Lego3400: The Sage of Time 23:03, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

This template is only being used on a couple of pages at the moment, so I say be bold. -- Denelson83 23:35, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Also I like the caption box... I'm gonna be test run those other feilds

Is there a way to make a field 'collapse' or be invisible unless it's used? I didn't put in a PGSM field as a lot of the characters don't appear. - Malkinann 00:29, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Yeah an opinal feild.. the hero boxes had them.. Ask the people there how to do it Lego3400: The Sage of Time 01:03, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Ok, here's how the Superherobox uses them:

{{#if:{{{powers|}}}|<tr style="vertical-align: top;"><td>'''Abilities'''</td><td>{{{powers|}}}</td></tr>}}

I'll try it on the Civilian name parameter... Wish me luck!- Malkinann 01:31, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Scope?

Who gets to use this template? the Sailor Team and Tuxedo Mask, of course, but minor characters? Enemies? Who?- Malkinann 00:29, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

I've just tested it out on Sailor Galaxia. Looks OK, I think, but that could be cos she's a rotten Senshi. - Malkinann 00:50, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Any one who is on their own page! Luna, Princess Kakyuu, You name it!
Currently the only people who have the new are are Usagi, Galxia, Ami, and Chibi Usa (I put it on hers since hers is so full i want to see what it looked like so full!) Ami's is pretty small but Chibi-Usa's is huge, larger than usagi i think! --Lego3400: The Sage of Time 02:31, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Kakyuu has it too... this time i wanted to see how well it wen on anothre type of charcter. (Also to test out the speices feild i added (For use on Galaxia, The cats, and Kakyuu only! Its easy to assume every one else is human so they don't need it!) Lego3400: The Sage of Time 16:48, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, the 'if' statements work well there. Nice touch. --Masamage 17:42, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fixes

Any way to stop it from making a big gap at the top of the page?

Also, the headers are a total mess right now. Some are aligned to the left, some to the right, some are too long and spill down to a seperate line...it looks awful. --Masamage 04:54, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

This one's gone. Thank you! :) --Masamage 09:17, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Sorry for stuffing up the template, everyone.  :( - Malkinann 21:56, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Whatever the 'gap' is, it's inherited from the {{Winx club character}} template - it does that too. - Malkinann 02:59, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
I've found what's causing it - There's an errant " 'P' 'br /' '/P' " (the ' are < and >) before the template in the articles themselves, but I don't know how to remove it. -- RattleMan 05:31, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
I also figured out which values are causing the problems - Debutm and Debuta. If they are removed from the articles inwhich they reside, the huge gap disappeared. -- RattleMan 05:53, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
Fixed it. There were redundant table row declarations in the wikicode. Those caused the unnecessary gap at the top of a page. -- Denelson83 06:19, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
Nice job. I wouldn't have thought of that. -- RattleMan 06:27, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Relatives

Just a thought, but I really don't like the "relatives" parameter. At all. Almost everyone is going to have one that says "none," "unknown," or "unnamed," except for Usagi and her family, who all have like a billion family members. --Masamage 04:58, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

While I'm on the subject, for the few characters who do have families (Usagi, Mamoru, Chibiusa), this information is spoilerific. --Masamage 05:13, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Okay, no one seems to have disagreed with this. If no one does so within the next few hours, I'll go ahead and axe it. --Masamage 23:22, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Axing now. The relatives section is going away. --Masamage 19:59, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Wait a sec! I liked it! Remember, our job is to be as encyclopedic as possible, We don't want to omit valuabe data, just because its a spoiler! If some if reading it they are going to know theirs spoilers. Lego3400: The Sage of Time 20:13, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

I agree, but the infobox is not covered by the "spoiler warning" tag, and that wasn't my primary reason anyway. It was a total mess. "Relatives: Ikuko Tsukino (mother), Kenji Tsukino (father), Shingo Tsukino (younger brother), Queen Serenity (mother in past life), Mamoru Chiba (future husband), Chibiusa (future daughter)" is clogged-up, hard to read, and way too long for a sidebar. Why on Earth would we want to do that when we can just write in the profile, "Usagi's parents are named Ikuko and Kenji, and she has a younger brother named Shingo," "Princess Serenity was named after her mother, the Queen" and "In the second story arc, Usagi discovers that she will one day marry Mamoru, and that Chibiusa is their future daughter"? Prose is wonderful! We love prose. Lists are to be avoided as often as possible. --Masamage 20:40, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Aww... but i worked so hard on itLego3400: The Sage of Time 21:27, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

I feel your pain. ;) I don't think this will demolish too much work, though--you did the job of finding out who was related to whom, and that's still available in the histories. It'll be very easy to grab that information out and use it to write up some brilliant prose. ^_^ --Masamage 21:57, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Appearances

The "first appearance" fields produce nine lines of header text and three lines of content. I think they should be combined. --Masamage 09:17, 7 December 2006 (UTC) Hows thisLego3400: The Sage of Time 02:53, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Put in use?

Are we ready to put this in use on all the characters that have a hero box? Lego3400: The Sage of Time 23:28, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Be bold, and go ahead. -- Denelson83 23:51, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Lists!

[edit] List of Characters that have the new Template

  • Ami
  • Usagi
  • Sailor Galxia
  • Chibi-Usa
  • Princess Kakyuu
  • Minako
  • Makoto
  • Rei
  • Setsuna
  • Hotaru
  • Michiru
  • Haruka
  • Hotaru
  • Luna
  • Artemis
  • Mamoru
  • Diana
  • Chibi-Chibi
  • Sailor Cosmos

THATS EVERYONE! The cats now share a page so they don't get boxes.

[edit] List of Charcters that need it

NONE! However, The cat's are lacking data such as first appearances.

when doing the colors, the old colors are in the old color feild which is now inactive. Just take it out of there

[edit] First appearance field

We really need to work up some consensus on this. I think the infobox is quite cluttery enough having anime, manga, and PGSM debuts listed; separating it by every single incarnation is just ridiculous. Taken to its full extreme, we'd get this:

Debut
Manga:
Usagi ()
Sailor Moon ()
Princess Serenity ()
Neo-Queen Serenity ()
Super Sailor Moon ()
Chibi-Usagi ()
Eternal Sailor Moon ()
Anime:
Usagi () (English: ())
Sailor Moon () English: ())
Princess Serenity () English: ())
Neo-Queen Serenity () English: ())
Super Sailor Moon () English: ())
Chibi-Usagi () ← Note from Denelson83: What the heck is this??? 07:23, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Eternal Sailor Moon ()
Live-action:
Usagi ()
Sailor Moon ()
Princess Serenity ()
Princess Sailor Moon ()

...which is absolutely insane for inclusion in a sidebox. It just blows my mind how much too much information that is.

I recommend that the infobox contain only the character's very first appearance ever, no matter which form they happen to take. One manga act, one episode, one PGSM ep. Later in the article, we talk about each of their other forms in turn; it makes much more sense to turn this into prose. No information will be lost.

Please comment, no matter which way you feel about it. We've always had a problem with people not responding to requests for discussion, and it's very difficult to know what consensus is if no one speaks up. --Masamage 04:53, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Reply to Denelson: Chibi-Usagi is what happens when the Amazon Quartet swaps her age with that of Chibiusa. No, I don't really think we should list that among her forms, but I did say "full extreme." (Some people do list it, like the Oracle.) --Masamage 18:18, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

This is all we really need. SM and Usagi always appear in the episode/act so thats one block. Chibi usagi and SM's Forms are just pointless. PSM is differnt as she is being possesed by the princesses's spirt at that time. 3 in each. Thats ALOT shorter.

Debut
Manga:
Usagi/Sailor Moon ()
Princess Serenity ()
Neo-Queen Serenity ()
Anime:
Usagi/Sailor Moon ()(English: ())
Princess Serenity ()(English: ())
Neo-Queen Serenity ()(English: ())
Live-action:
Usagi/Sailor Moon ()
Princess Serenity ()
Princess Sailor Moon ()

--Lego3400: The Sage of Time 04:56, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

That's both totally arbitrary and still way too long. --Masamage 22:05, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Species

Is this really necessary? On first inspection, Sailor Galaxia appears to be the only character using that field. Also, the only two plausible values for these would be "Human" and "Unknown humanoid" anyway. Ah, and "cat". - Sikon 16:53, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

And even 'cat' is debatable, because of Mau. :) Yeah, I think you have a good point. I'd support removing that field. --Masamage 20:22, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Kakyuu uses that feild, all the cats, Galaxia, Chibichibi, and Cosmos use it! thats 7 Charcters. I vote Keep --Lego3400: The Sage of Time 04:58, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Yes, but all they say is "We don't know," which is a useless thing to be making such a big deal about. --Masamage 22:05, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

4 have actul speices. If We could split up the starlights it would be 7 that have actual ones for a total of 10. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lego3400 (talkcontribs).

What species do we actually know about? The cats aren't always really cats, they're from Mau, which is a species we don't know the name of--which might in fact be humans--and which varies from series to series, making that too much info. Kakyuu, the Starlights, Galaxia, Chibichibi, Sailor Cosmos, Guardian Cosmos, Queen Serenity, and in fact all ten of the Silver Millennium-age Sailor Team are of totally unknown species. If we call the others "unknown," then we're making the tacit claim that we do know the rest of the Senshi's species. Turns out they're not, which makes every single character an unknown species, which once again makes the field pretty pointless. --Masamage 21:51, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

So...any arguments in favor of keeping the species field which take into account the fact that we don't actually know anyone's species? --Masamage 01:51, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

If nothing convincing comes up, I'll go ahead and nuke it this coming Tuesday, the 16th. --Masamage 19:14, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
Oooookay. Today's the day. I'm taking it out tonight unless something comes up. --Masamage 17:54, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Check. --Masamage 04:08, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dub aliases field

This discussion page is here for a reason, you know. --Masamage 06:24, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
