[edit] Swear word

We hear various nautical animal/marine sounds (no beep heard), instead of a swear word in this episode. According to TV.com, it was fuck. Then SpongeBob read "Krabs is a fucker" and Patrick read "fucker". SpongeBob also said "Hello costumers, nice fucky day we're having, huh?".

  • I've read cached TV.com pages[1] [2] and I have not been able to find where they make that claim. Furthermore, there were 13 words, not just one. Finally, TV.com is similar to Wikipedia in that anyone can contribute. Even if their site did offer a guess at the actual profanity it was likely unsubstantiated speculation. --Dan East 20:58, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
  • I just changed the first trivia entry, which stated that the expletives were "supposed to be heard". I'm not sure why there are some people that really want to believe that the characters are swearing and using real profanity. At the end of the show it is clear that the sounds we hear are the actual swear words themselves. This fact makes the episode much more benign, but for some reason it has been completely overlooked in the article. IMO, that is an example of the witty humor directed squarely at the mature viewers that makes the show so enjoyable to watch. --Dan East 14:06, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
  • Just thought that I'd state that the word is DEFINATELY used as both "fucking" and "fuck".
  • What about the writing on the dumpster? It probably said "Krabs is a mother fucker." --Martin4647 15:12, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
    • My own two cents... this whole thing is being way overanalyzed. All the "cursing" until the end is just to set up the final gag, and the honking being mistaken for a curse word is exactly that, a gag. That's really all there is to it. - furrykef (Talk at me) 18:20, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
"When SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs say "Number Eleven", on some parts the "f" pronunciation before the dolphin chirps can be heard if observed closely. This possibly indicates that "Number Eleven" could be %#$@ or variations of it (example: -ing)"
This comment is really retarded... especially the %#$@ part. The ending is a gag. It is a bit of nonsensical humor, and it was brilliantly executed, as far as you can take an underwater petroleum fueled vehicle with an audible horn anyway. Seriously you folks are too much.Isaac Crumm 06:18, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pirate and Customer

"After SpongeBob said 'Hello, customers! Nice (dolphin chirps) day we're having huh?', we see a pirate sitting next to a customer. I believe that the pirate is Blackbeard as a fish. I also believe that the customer next to Blackbeard is Bock Tuddrussel (the fish version of a Time Squad character name, Buck Tuddrussel). I believe the old fish sitting in the Krusty Krab when the bad word is said again is Peter Folk, a fish version of Peter Falk." Bobber1.

[edit] Swear

Kindly stop editing the page to show the whole swear. Just putting f*** is enough, because if little kids see it, they'll be seeing very inappropriate material. --Der4 20:29, 15 March 2007

It doesn't matter whether or not little kids see it Wikipedia is not censored. --Caldorwards4 00:43, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Yes it does matter. It is too inappropriate for kids and lots of kids will view it because it involves SpongeBob. --Der4 9:50, 16 March 2007

Truly it doesn't matter since this is an encyclopedia and must be clear when referencing a term (censorship can cause confusion). My problem is more that it is orginal research (very unencyclopedic) since the word has not been confirmed by any offical source. --71.116.17.73 02:32, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Besides, knows if it's the f-word of not? It could be something way more mild like "damn". Replay7 20:20, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

It DOES matter. Wikipedia is not censored and definetly not censored for the poor souls of some US kids (only goddamn country in the world that has such stupid rules). The better question is, is it important to note in the article ! And NO it's not. Having "swear word" in the prose will do just fine. please WP:AVTRIV. --TheDJ (talkcontribsWikiProject Television) 19:06, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sources

There are no sources for the facts I'm putting, but I myslef have seen them. I watched SpongeBob on March 3rd, and Best Day Ever nad Sailor Mouth were paired, and it is true that Sailor Mouth aired as the B epsidode instead of A for it's first few airings. FictionH 23:07, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

So what? why is this important? Truly I don't see the point of this information in wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a history of every broadcast in the world. and especially not of reruns and other types of syndications. --TheDJ (talkcontribsWikiProject Television) 18:45, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
