Sait Colony

Sait Colony is a collective name for two roads, Sait Colony 1st Street and Sait Colony 2nd Street, located in Egmore in Chennai, India. Very close to the Chennai Museum. It starts from Halls' Road at Casa Major Road and winds to Sait Colony 1st Street, which leads to Egmore High Road.

The closest railway station is the Egmore station, located approximately 1.4 km away. The police station in charge of this colony is F2 Police Station, Egmore High Road. The colony also houses two banks, the Indian Bank and Canara Bank.

Sait Colony is noted for the Vellanmai Pattatharigal Sangam (Agro Graduates Society), Eela Aethiliar Maruvaazhvu Kazhagam (A Sri Lankan Rehabitilation Association) and for Minerva Tutorial College.


The Auto Rickshaw Stand at the start of the road acts as a welfare society providing women free transportation for labour/pregnancy to hospitals which is usually the Child's and Women's Hospital whose back entrance is approximately 0.5 km from the Colony.

This place is known as a hangout for school students. Even though the School Don Bosco is very close by, It is seen that Sait Colony is frequented by students of Asan Memorial Senior Secondary School and Asan Memorial Matriculation School located on Anderson Road and Greams Road respectively.

The residents of this colony often serve the community by voluntarily participating in distribution of Metro Water.
