[edit] Plot summary

The death of the Sagittarius Aiolos at the hands of the own Gold Saints has left his younger brother, Gold Saint Leo Aiolia, with a bitter feeling and hate towards the Sanctury and all the Gold Saints. This added to the belief that his brother, Aiolos, is a traitor and that tried to killed baby Athena, has created mistrust against him from the Gold Saints and The Pope. To make things worse, the enemies of God Zeus, the Titans, have revived and seek vengeance against him and the sanctuary. This marks the start of Aiola's story and the battle of the Gold Saints against the Titan Gods.

[edit] Story

In ancient times, the Titan Cronos (son of Uranus the sky and Gaia the earth) and his wife Rhea gave birth to six children. Five of them were swallowed by Cronos, and only one was saved, Zeus, hidden from Cronos by Rhea. Upon reaching adulthood, Zeus forces his father to vomit the other five gods. Zeus, along with his brothers and sisters, decide to battle the Titans for control of the universe. Cronos and the other eleven Titans lose the battle and are sent to Tartarus.

Now, the Titans are back, and want to destroy the Sanctuary in Greece. The Gold Saints must fight the Titans and send them back to Tartarus. The battle takes place in the Labyrinth of Cronos.

[edit] Style

Saint Seiya Episode G is different than its predecessor in that is drawn by Megumu Okada, and not Masami Kurumada (who only gave the original idea of the "Gold Saints' youth" to Okada).

This change displeased many fans at first, as Megumu Okada has a completely different style than Kurumada. Megumu Okada draws his characters much more stylised than Kurumada, with thin and slender bodies, big eyes, and little noses. However, one noteworthy thing about Okada's style is the amount of tone and detail he puts into his characters; everything is toned in some shape or form.

[edit] Titans (ティターン神族)

Sons of Gaia and Uranus, her son and husband, the Titans are twelve deities (six gods and six goddesses) that once ruled the world. In ancient times, they were locked by their father – afraid of being dethroned by them. However, the youngest of them, Cronos, leaded a revolution against his father and defeated him using the Megas Drepanon, his sacred armor created by his mother. After some time of glory, the sons of Cronos, leaded by Zeus, attacked the Titans and, victorious, sealed them inside their own Soma on the depths of Tartarus. Now, based on Cronos’ Labyrinth, they are trying to completely revive and once more become the world rulers.

  • Cronos (クロノス?)
The king of the Titans and also the youngest of them. Different from his brothers and sisters, he wasn’t sealed in Tartarus, but on a sacred room below the Athena statue on the sanctuary of this goddess, and he received not just the seal of his son, Zeus, but also of Athena, his granddaughter. After thousands of years, the seals had grown weak and Cronos become able to project his will to any part of Earth in the form of a giant being with six arms. He is self-centered enough to doesn’t acknowledge any other god, and is always bossing everyone around – his brothers and the humans. He proclaimed Aiolia as the one destined to release him, once the Leo Saint uses lightning to attack – what could cancel Zeus’s seal, also based on lightning -, the only element of nature Cronos can’t control. He was successful, but after been released, he assumed a childish form and mind, along with non-complete powers. The other Titans are, now, trying to use Aiolia in order to recover their King true form and powers. His Soma has the shape of a scythe (Megas Drepanon). His special techniques, so far, are:
- Teleos Oracle (絶対神託 - テレオス・オラクル?): An attack that hits directly the opponent’s mind. It invites the victim to become Cronos’ servant. If the target resists, then a curse will be thrown upon it and it persona will be destroyed. It acts poisoning the victim’s existence, throwing it in a miserable destiny of betrayals and decadence, ending on a death by the hands of those who were it’s friends – the same destiny shared by the descends of Uranus. It also affects the target by waking the “evil” impulses and ambitions. It’s an attack the clearly shows the power of gods when controlling human’s lives.
- Khaos Hyetos (渾沌豪雨 - カオス・ヒュエトス?): One of the many forms used by Cronos to control nature. It calls the rain and change it shape into incredibly long dark needles which penetrate the body of the enemy causing immensurable pain. It passes through the armors and affects directly the body. When hurting the enemy, it also drains its life and Cosmo energy.
- Phainomenon Arkhein (現象支配 - パイノメノン・アルケイン?): Controlling nature, Cronos calls the veils of Earth’s depths to the surface and whirls the wind turning it into natural blades. This attack slashes the victim body using the innumerable wind blades while burns the target using the flames that emerges from the soil, which burns not just the body but also the life energy.
  • Hyperion of Ebony (漆黒のヒュペリオン Shikkoku no Hyperion?)
The first Titan released from Tartarus by Pontus. He is very rational, fair and caring for his brothers and followers. That’s why, differently from his brothers and sister, he – along with Coeus, who seems to be his best friend – is trying no just to release Cronos from Zeus’ seal, but also all the human soldiers who followed the Titans in ancient times, along with the families of those. If Hyperion is a gentle man with his brothers, this changes completely when he is facing an opponent or when he is cultivating his hatred for Zeus and the other gods who defeated the Titans. In fight, Hyperion is merciless and uses his fists against any opponent, ignoring if there are women or children. When he is in battle, he is usually depicted in ways that makes he resemble a horned demon what is easily done considering his helmet has two curveted horns. Even so, he can show some mercy to a foe who shows exceptional value like he did with Aiolia. Hyperion possesses a very high analytical perception, so he can fully understand a technique when seeing it for the very first time and, then, he develops an adequate form to nullify it. He was also the first one to suspect of Pontus’ loyalty. Aside from that, he seems to have developed a special connection to Aiolia after their first fight, as he becomes the formal rival of the Gold Saint. He seems to fully control the wind, which assumes a black color when following Hyperion’s orders, using it in many ways like transportation. His Soma has the shape of a big sword. His special techniques, so far, are:
- Ebony Vortex (漆黒旋風 - エボニー・ボルテックス?): His main attack. Controlling the wind, Hyperion engulfs the enemy on a vortex made by dark wind. The vortex never ceases until the body inside of it be completely decimated. The whirls slashes the enemy’s body ripping its limbs, and also generates many pressure variations making the blood of the victim to boil and evaporate. As Aiolia discovered, the Ebony Vortex can be destroyed from inside if it receives many strong blows at the same time in different spots.
- Gurthang Vortex (死剣旋風 - グアサング・ボルテクス?): Summoning the Gurthang sword (based on the homonymous sword created by Tolkien), Hyperion not only gains an incredible weapon but also a new technique. In Gurthang Vortex, the wind starts to move around Gurthang in circles, Hyperion then points the sword towards the enemy and a high pressure is created on the end of the sword. Every matter around is revolved and destroyed in a violent whirl of pressure.
- Cosmo Pressure: Not exactly a special technique, but Hyperion can concentrate his Cosmo in his fists creating an incredibly high pressure. With this, he can toy with an enemy’s body by throwing it away without touching it, spinning it around or even deflects blasts thrown on him.
  • Iapetos of Dimension (次元のイアペトス Jigen no Iapetos?)
The second Titan released from Tartarus by Pontus. Different from all the other Titans, Iapetos shows a very childish personality. He easily get angry, is very cocky, proud of his power – and likes to show it to those inferior –, ironic, rude even with his brothers and sadistic. He has an androgynous appearance, and some times is depicted in ways seeming he uses lipstick. Iapetos, despite his personality, is incredibly strong. In his fight against Mu, interrupted by Cronos, he left the battle without a single scratch, while the Aries Saint, considered one of the strongest Gold Saints, was covered by his own blood. Even being completely loyal to Cronus, Iapetos can act by his own if he think is necessary. Doing this, he was once discovered by Cronos and then offered his own life as a payment, but he was “saved” by Hyperion’s arguments. Even so, Iapetos seems to hold a grudge against Hyperion and Coeus, treating them as stubs. He was also the one who kidnapped Litos in order to attract Aiolia to Cronos’ Labyrinth. Although all the Titans – or many of them, at least – can create dimensional portals to travel from Cronos’ Labyrinth to some place on Earth, Iapetos seems to be the only one to fully control the dimensional portals. He can open and expand them with a single movement of his arms (or even without it) and can use they very effectively in battle. He can also control Hecatonchires mentally, using them as war tools. It’s still unknown if his mental control can be applied to other beings inferior to him. Like in mythology, in Episode G Iapetos is Themis' husband and Atlas’ father, but Atlas did not appear on the story so far.His Soma has the shape of a double-edged sword xiphos.
His special techniques, so far, are:
- Khora Temnein (空間切断 - コーラー・テムネイン?): Moving an arm, Iapetos creates a dimensional portal. It expands extremely fast and everything in the way is engulfed by it and completely decimated in the same instant or, at least, locked in another dimension. This attack can be potentialized by opening many dimensional doors instead of just one, making the expansion speed and range much great. The technique can be also be used in conjunct with the Hecatonchire.
- Hekatonkheir Kalein (百手招喚 - ヘカトンケイル・カレイン?): In this move, Iapetos opens a dimensional door and summons an Hecatonchire from it. The Hecatonchire completely obeys Iapetos, who seems to control him mentally in order to erase any vestige of own will. It’s unknown how many Hecatonchires Iapetos can control in the same time or if he has just one of them being controlled or can dispose of all the three (Briareus, Cottus and Gyges). The Hecatonchires are giant creatures with fifty minor heads on the top of the giant one and two immense arms that can split into a hundred more. Their bodies are very resistant: Iapetos normally uses them in conjunction with the Khora Temnein, ripping their arms to make them reappear in other place. Even after the hundred arms are ripped by Iapetos, they still can be fully controlled in order to attack an enemy and, after that, fuse again with the body of the Hecatonchire.
- Hekaton Menis (百の激怒 - ヘカトン・メニス?): One of the Hecatonchire’s attacks. The bracelets on one of the arms are destroyed by the muscles expansion and the arm suddenly divides itself into a hundred of minor arms. They wall attack the enemy at the same time causing major damages.
- Hekaton Molybdaina (百弾 - ヘカトン・モリュブダイナ?): Another of the Hecatonchire’s attacks. This time, both arms divides into one hundred more and they all attack the enemy assuming a different form that resembles spears.
- Melas Planetes (闇之惑星 - メラス・プラネーテス?): An attack similaro to Gemini Saga's Another Dimension: bring the enemy in a different dimension made from his Cosmo.
- Hex Aster Xiphos (六星之刃 ヘクス アステル クシポス?): Summons 6 Cyclops and arms them with swords.
- Khaos Blade:
- Khaos Kyklos:
- Khaos Prosboli:

  • Coeus of Dark Lightning (黒雷のコイオス Kokurai no Koios?)
The third Titan released from Tartarus by Pontus. He is considered by Cronos as he “best killer”. Even so, Coeus is the most caring and gentle of all the Titans. His amiability are not reserved just to his brothers, but also to his enemies. Although very focused in his missions, Coeus seems to avoid unnecessary killings but he still likes a good fight. Despite being the “good one” among the Titans, Coeus is lethal when fighting and merciless once the enemy decides to fight. Controlling the lightning (but what seems to be an impure version of them, so he could not destroy the seal of Zeus), Coeus can magnify his speed. After been boosted by a dark lightning, his movements become so fast that even the Gold Saints are unable to see. Once his Soma has the shape of a rapier, it possesses a high perforation power, being able to trespass a Golden Cloth with just his fingers. Coeus is very close to Hyperion and both are trying to release their humans followers without the connivance of their brothers. His special techniques, so far, are:
- Ebony Illumination (漆黒光源 - エボニー・イルミネイション?): Coeus creates black orbs of energy which can be freely controlled by him. They fly directly to their target, but their trajectory can be changed by Coeus will. Once they hit the target, they explode causing physical damage of engulf the enemy locking him inside.
- Sparkle Rapier (閃光刺突 - スパークル・レイピア?): A beautiful attack that consists in Coeus create an incredibly high amount of hands made of dark energy. They flight until the enemy doing circular movements, making this attack resemble a horizontal cyclone. When the target is near, all the hands converge on a single point and pass through the body of the enemy, similar to a rapier. They hit the body directly, passing through any armor as if it wasn’t there. The damages caused to the enemy are made from the inside, directly to its organs and veins.
- Ebony Gail (漆黒疾風 - エボニー・ゲイル?): With a strong movement of his fist, Coeus condensates the wind, creating a very sharp blow that hits the enemy as a blade. The movement, as the Sparkle Rapier, can pass through armors and injures directly the body due to be made of wind.
  • Crius of Galaxy (星漢のクレイオス Seikan no Kreios?)
Crius was released together with Oceanus, Tethys, Teia, Phoebe, Rhea, Mnemosyne and Themis by Pontus after the last be helped by Iapetos. He has a very harsh personality, is very serious and extremely violent. He seeks for fights and acts according to a very strong sense of honor. Still, he is not bid by the honor code, and comprehends the existence of a god as a completely free existence moved only by its all-powerful will. He attacked the Sanctuary to or serve as a diversion to Athena’s forces while Cronos tried to rescue the Megas Drepanon, or just to fight. He is very respected by the Titan’s minions, as we can see by Spathe’s words. With the Aster Blade, the huge scimitar created by his Cosmo, Crius is known for very accurate and sharp blows. His serious attitude is so strong that even furious he doesn’t lose his mind. After fighting against Shura, he realized the Athena Saints can be very good opponents and left the place leaving the key to the Saints reach Cronos’ Labyrinth. His Soma has the shape of a scimitar. His special techniques, so far, are:
- Aster Blade (星断剣 - アステル・ブレイド?): The immense scimitar created by Crius’ Cosmo. Due to the fact the sword is not material, it can be reconstructed if destroyed and can pass through anything without touching it if Crius desires so. This way, this sword can cut the enemy’s body through armors. The blade of the sword not just cuts the body, but also disrupts the energy of the being hurt, making it weaker.
- Aster Choreía (星断円斬 - アステル・コレイア?): The Aster Blade changes its form and becomes circular with angular blades around. It attacks spinning, acting exactly like the Aster Blade. The difference is the Aster Choreía drain the blood and the energy of the enemy. This way, Crius can look inside the enemy memories and use the energy drained to boost his attacks.
- Aster Cyclos (星断光輪 - アステル・キュクロス?): An attack used after the Aster Choreía is formed. Using not just Crius’ energy, but also all the energy drained by the Aster Choreía, the Aster Cyclos consists in a ring made of pure and dense energy. The ring is shot against the enemy and, despite the enormous power that contains, is not very fast.
  • Oceanus of Current (清流のオケアノス Seiryū no Okeanos?)
Oceanus was released together with Crius, Tethys, Teia, Phoebe, Rhea, Mnemosyne and Themis by Pontus after the last be helped by Iapetos. He seems to be the most rational of all the Titans and is barely impossible to see a vestige of emotion on his face. He attacked the Sanctuary in order to take Aiolia to Cronos’ Labyrinth, so the Titans could use him to restore Cronos. But, in fact, the presence or Oceanus was merely a part of the plan: it was a diversion, so Iapetos could kidnap Litos, and also was the way found to make Aiolia follow the Titans, once he could use the portal that Oceanus created to go back to the Labyrinth. In this occasion, he faced the unexpected presence of Camus. Even considering the natural advantage of Camus once he could freeze all the water created by Oceanus, the Titan had the upper hand during the entire fight. Still, he left the place to follow the original plan without finishing his fight against Camus. His Soma has the shape of two daggers. His special techniques, so far, are:
- Thalassa Deluge (大海氾濫 - タラッサ・デリュージュ?): With a mere movement of his hand, Oceanus creates a huge amount of water that flows like a big wave toward the enemies. Is an expansive attack, due to the fact it can expand in all the directions around Oceanus body. The water is completely pure, so it doesn’t conducts electricity, what made everyone of Aiolia attacks ineffective against Oceanus.
- Stream Edge (清流之刃 - ストリュウム・エッジ?): Using the particles of water present on the atmosphere, Oceanus creates very sharp blades to his two daggers. They are more used to create the Current Impact technique.
- Current Impact (海流衝撃 - カレント・インパクト?): An attack made with the use of the Stream Edge. The daggers created two water typhoons. The water whirls so fast that, when theuy collide, a veru strong impact wave is created to slash anything in its way.
- Auge Hydor (輝光水流 - アウゲー・ヒュドール?): Oceanus creates small water points around his body. With as order, those little amount of water run through the air until touch the enemy. After hit the opponent, the water penetrates the body of the enemy without any difficult. From this moment on, Oceanus gain total control upon all the liquid inside the body of the victim. This way, he can abruptly force all the blood of the enemy to be expelled through the skin, stop its flux or whatever he wants.
  • Rhea (レア?)
One of the six Titanesses, she was released along with the other five, Oceanus and Crius. Until this moment, not much is known about her. Differently from mythology, Rhea, the other Titanesses and Oceanus have fought against the Olympian gods in Titanomachia, so she was sealed in Tartarus as well. She seems a mysterious woman who stays completely loyal to Cronos. Although she can acknowledge a human’s strength, she still doesn’t tolerate a human trying to overcome gods. After the release of Cronos, she immediately appeared at the Statue of Athena to protect her king, who as defenseless at the moment. After that, she attacked Aiolia and Shura with her Gea Python. Back to Cronos’ Labyrinth, she taught Cronos how to use his Soma as a vest. She is Cronos’ wife and so mother of Zeus, Posedion, Hades, Hera, Demeter and Hestia. Her Soma has the shape of a katar. Her special technique, so far, is:
- Ge Python (天地乃蛇 - ゲー・ビュートーン?): The huge stone snakes Rhea is able to create with her Cosmo. It seems Rhea have some care toward her snakes, although not that much. Rhea seems to be able to sense the snake, so she realized then the monster was defeated by Aldebaran and gave more strength to it. With more power, the snakes become a single multi-headed one resembling the mythological Lernaean Hydra. The blood of the Ge Python is a poison that burns on contact. Every destroyed head is immediately replaced and it can only be defeated if the main head is destroyed.
  • Themis (テミス?)
One of the six Titanesses, she was released along with the other five, Oceanus and Crius. Just like the mythology, Themis is a symbol of justice. With a strict personality, she is a wild woman, angry and rude with her enemies. In fight, she likes to make her enemies die slowly, not for pleasure – like her husband Iapetos –, but to make they feel the power of the justice that she represents. She seems to have some friendship towards Mnemosyne, but it’s unclear. Her Soma has the shape of a spear. Her special techniques, so far, are:
- Brabeus Blade (審判乃刃 - ブラベウス・ブレイド?): A strong energy blast shoot by Themis legs, similar to Shura’s Excalibur. If the Brabeus Blade is used to deffend an attack, the attack will be redirected to the person who used it.
- Brabeus Talanton (審判乃天秤 - ブラベウス・タラントロン?): The huge balance made of Cosmos that Themis creates, smashes its enemies with the weight of its sins. The weight is determined by the sins committed by the victim according to Themis sense of justice, so a crime against the gods – specially the Titans – will be enough to crush the body of enemy. It seems to demand concentration of Themis to keep adequate weight. The technique was enough to hold Aiolia and Shura, but Aldebaran could easily lift the plates of the balance once he support his sins using them to become stronger.
  • Mnemosyne (ムネモシュネ?)
One of the six Titanesses, she was released along with the other five, Oceanus and Crius. She has a very childish appearance, resembling a scholar girl. Her eyes are cloudy, what suggest to many fans that she is blind. She is incredibly calm and this allows her to comprehend the happenings easily. Being the one who controls the memories of the world, she was the one who comprehend the reason to Cronos lost his memories after been released and, without any proud as a goddess, immediately noticed that Aiolia was the one who suppressed Cronos Cosmo by destroying his projection. She also seems to be able to sense presences with great accuracy. She seems to have some friendship towards Themis, but it’s unclear. Her Soma has the shape of an axe.
  • Phoebe (ポイベ?)
One of the six Titanesses, she was released along with the other five, Oceanus and Crius. Not much is known about her. As all the other Titans, she seems to be very loyal to Cronos. In mythology, she was Coeus’ wife, but is unknown if the Episode G will use this.
  • Theia (テイア?)
One of the six Titanesses, she was released along with the other five, Oceanus and Crius. Not much is known about her. As all the other Titans, she seems to be very loyal to Cronos. In mythology, she was Hyperion’s wife, but is unknown if the Episode G will use this. Her Soma has the shape of a crossbow.
  • Tethys (テテュス?)
One of the six Titanesses, she was released along with the other five, Oceanus and Crius. Not much is known about her. As all the other Titans, she seems to be very loyal to Cronos. In mythology, she was Oceanus’ wife, but is unknown if the Episode G will use this. Her Soma has the shape of a sledgehammer.

[edit] Other Gods

A mysterious ally of the Titans. His armor is called Ars Magna(Great Art) (大いなる秘宝 - アルス・マグナ Ooinaru hihō - Arus Maguna?). Hyperion hasn't much faith in him. It seems he's working for somebody else.
- (Black Wave)Melas Kuma (黒キ波 - メラス キューマ Kuroki Nami - Merasu Kyūma?):
  • Gaia (ガイア Gaia?)
The Earth Goddess, she is the mother of the Titans, Uranos, the Gigas and Pontus. She made the Somas for the Titans. It's speculated she's the one behind Pontus.
Son and Husband of Gaia and father of the Titans. Castrated and deposed by Cronos.
