Saint Rose Crusaders

The Saint Rose Crusaders (セント・ローズ・クルセイダーズ sento rouzu kuruseidasu kanji: 聖薔薇騎士団 Sei-bara kishi dan or Sei-shoubi kishi dan) is the name of a group of villains from Tokyo Mew Mew à la Mode.

The Saint Rose Crusaders are a group of humans who took control of the remaining Chimera Anima and intend to use them for world domination. It is revealed that the Saint Rose Crusaders were all humans born with special powers. Because they were different, they were shunned by friends and family to the point of almost being abandoned. They were all sent to the same boarding school where they met. The mysterious Duke also appeared to them there, telling them that they were all special and necessary. Because Duke made them feel needed, the students agreed to follow her. When they first appeared, they targeted Berry Shirayuki's blood for some reason. In their last evil action, the Saint Rose Crusaders used televised hypnosis to make the people think Berry is the evil Mew Mew whom is ruining Tokyo Mew Mew. The other Mew Mews stood by her side. Once the hypnosis was broken by the love from Berry and Tasuku, the Saint Rose Crusaders renounced their evil ways.

The members of the group are:
- Duke: The leader of the Saint Rose Crusaders. Her powers are unknown, though she has shown traits of hypnotic abilities.
- Royal Highness/Aizuki Yuuzen: He poses as a teacher at Berry's school. His powers are unknown, but he seems to have psychic abilities and hypnosis akin to Duke's.
- Happy Child/Utamaro: For his powers, he can use ultra-sonic sound waves of some sort.
- Blue Bayou: Sources seem to indicate he has super-strength for his powers.
- Sweet Juliet: His powers are unknown, but it may be something about appearance. He seems to be intelligent since Blue Bayou refers to him as a genius actress - perhaps meaning that he has the ability to fool anyone through his acting, if his role as Otome Sakuragasumi the announcer earlier in the chapter was any indication.

Though the name of the Saint Rose Crusaders is written in katakana, their name is also written in kanji. The name of the Crusaders is fairly the same as their Japanese counterpart, but shortened.
聖 - sei (Saint, St.) 薔 薇 - bara, shoubi (rose) 騎 士 - kishi (knight) 団 - dan (group, troupe)
Their Japanese name is either Sei-bara kishi dan or Sei-shoubi kishi dan, which translates to either St. rose knights group or St. rose knights troupe.
[edit] Criticism
- Duke wears white robes similar to those of the Ku Klux Klan. She also has the same name as Klansman David Duke, which has led to fans calling Ikumi and Reiko racists or racially insensitive.
