Saint Pius X College

Saint Pius X College is a secondary school located in Magherafelt, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It is a Catholic co-educational school within the North Eastern Education and Library Board area. The school opened in 1960 and was named Sant Pius X High School.

In 1999 the school began its redevelopment process and finished the new programme in 2003. This process was originally planned to take 12 million but ended up costing 15 million. 85% of the school is new and the remaining percentage was renovated.

In 2004 the school's status changed to a college in order to accommidate for their provisons of the sixth form. The change of status also saw a name change to, 'Saint Pius X College'. 2004 saw the development of the sixth form in the school, this was done in order to allow students to continue into years 13 and 14 (these year groups were previously not offered in the school). Students looking to develop their educational careers before, had to move on to other schools in the area to do so.
