Saint Louis University Hospital

Saint Louis University Hospital is a hospital in St. Louis, Missouri named after Saint Louis, a former French king. Saint Louis University Hospital, also widely known as SLU Hospital, has been owned by the Tenet corporation since the university sold it in 1998. SLU Hospital remains the main teaching hospital for Saint Louis University School of Medicine. SLU Hospital has been recognized by US News & World Report magazine as one of the top 10 geriatric hospitals in the United States and currently has 356 licensed beds.

Much of the current Saint Louis University Hospital was constructed in 1986 as an addition to Firmin Desloge Hospital. Firmin Desloge Hospital first opened in 1933 as a partnership between the Jesuits of Saint Louis University and the Sisters of Saint Mary.
