Saint James railway station, Liverpool

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

St James' station in Liverpool, England was situated on the Cheshire Lines Committee line from Liverpool Central between Central and Brunswick (what is now part of Merseyrail's Northern Line). It was located at the bottom of Parliament Street, opposite Saint James' Church.

It closed in 1917. However, its proximity to King's Dock has meant that its reopening has figured in several proposals to redevelop the area.

Both of the station's platforms survive and can still be seen on Northern Line trains heading for Southport or Hunts Cross.
