[edit] Twin Towns
- - Schoden, Germany
- - Wrea Green, UK
The village is twinned with the town of Schoden, in Germany and has been for quite a number of years. On the 12 November 2005, Saint-Bris-le-Vineux became officially twinned with a village of around the same size in Lancashire, UK called Wrea Green. A delegation of people came from Wrea Green in November 2005 to sign the twinning agreement, but the first 'exchange' came over Easter 2006, when 43 St-Bris residents visited Britain to familiarise themselves with their new, second, twin town.
On the 27th July 2007, the first large group of Wrea Green villagers will make a return trip to France for three days too. This will be the first trip open to any Wrea Green resident (as the November 2005 trip was mainly to sign the Twinning Agreement) and it is hoped many of the community will go.
[edit] St Bris Wine
The Saint-Bris-Le-Vineux wine is a white wine produced in the area of the town of the same name, near Auxerre and Chablis, Burgundy, France. Formely named as 'Sauvignon de Saint-Bris' it has obtained the classification of Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) in 2003 under the name of 'Saint-Bris'.
The particularity of this wine is that it the only Burgundy AOC wine produced from Sauvignon grapes (sauvignon B and sauvignon gris G). This give it a unique taste among Burgundy white wines, which are usually made from Chardonnay or Aligoté grapes.
