[edit] White Pine Middle School
White Pine Middle School is dedicated to providing all students with a nurturing learning environment that fosters their intellectual, emotional, social and physical development. We recognize, accept, and value the unique worth of each child. Our goal is to create an atmosphere conducive to the growth of self-esteem and to develop well-rounded sensitive children who will become lifelong learners.
We strive to provide a flexible, challenging curriculum that includes a strong emphasis on reading, personal expression of ideas through speaking and writing, and mastery of computational and problem-solving skills. We encourage scientific and technological exploration, world awareness, artistic creativity, and physical fitness. These skills are taught not only in isolation, but also in integration with one another. In all areas, we emphasize independent thinking and judgments balanced by receptivity to the ideas of others.
Committed to promoting a cooperative multicultural school community that includes school staff, parents and children, we acknowledge the need for mutual respect and encourage understanding between all members. We further advocate involvement by all members of our school community in school activities and participation as responsible citizens in activities that impact our local and global communities.
