Sagamore Beach, a village of Bourne was named after the Sagamore Indians. Located on the coast of Massachusetts, United States, nestled in the bay surrounding the Atlantic Ocean entrance for the canal, Sagamore Beach is home to many secluded private and public beaches. In honor of those who came before, titles used to name the many streets and roads in Sagamore Beach include; Siasconset, Sachem, Scusset, Indian Hill, and Fox Run. A sachem is considered a chief of the first rank and a sagamore one of the second rank.
