I removed the reference to the Powers that Be, because since this is a Joss Whedon series some people may get it confused with the Buffy being.67.142.130.40 15:32, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Parents

"* On the other hand, Simon was alarmed by the fact that River was only 14 when she left her loving family for the Academy, but did not return home between school terms, did not write home for many months, and then sent a flurry of misspelled letters referring to fictional events. The fact that River's parents were not also alarmed by these events and by their older son's concern may indicate that they knew River was enrolled in more than just a top-notch academic program. It is unlikely they knew the details, but it is possible they consented to have River enrolled in some kind of program that was vital to Alliance security, were rewarded by some kind of privilege, and were warned of dire consequences should they attempt to withdraw River from the program. It would explain why they reacted to Simon's concerns by pointing out the consequences to his career, rather than (for example) offering to visit River at the Academy on her birthday so they could all see for themselves that she was fine."

I feel that this is to much conjecture and supposition to be included, primarily fan opinion rather than evidence stated in the show. JBK405 21:22, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Good catch. This is a lot of speculation. EVula 21:45, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] River's Dance

Just tossing a quick note for possible trivia

From what I've seen on the dvd and in her entry River's dance sequence may not have had a double since Summer Glau is a trained dancer.

It seems very likely, but it's just speculation unless we have a reliable source. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 13:45, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
