Safi of Persia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Shah Safi was Shah of Iran from 1629 to 1642. He was the sixth Shah under the Safi Dynasty and grandson of Shah Abbas. It has been noted that Safi had many political dissidents assassinated to maintain his hold on the throne. Despite this oppression and the Shah's lack of interest in the affairs of the Persian Empire, his reign was not interrupted. He died in 1642 in Kashan and is buried in Qom
