Sadao Bekku

Sadao Bekku (b. 1922) is a Japanese classical composer. His works include five symphonies, nine film scores (he gave up film scoring in 1968 to focus on concert work), a flute sonata, a piano concerto, choral work and art songs, and the opera, Prince Arima.

His work takes strong influence from jazz.

His most famous works include the madrigal O-otoko no niwa ("Giant's Garden", 1962) and the film score, Matango.
