Sadaate Amroha

Amroha is a small town in the northwestern Uttar Pradesh State, northern India, west-northwest of Moradabad town, on the Sot River. Natives of Amroha are called Amrohvis or Amrohis.

Earliest arrival of Muslims in Amroha is by Sultan Mohammad Ghaznavi is in 1192. Arrival of Hazrat Sharf-ud-din, better known as Shah Wilayat from Iraq via Multan is given variously as 1271. He died in 1381. In fact Syed Murtaza Alamul Huda (RA) a renown learned personality of the time has used the title "Shahwilayat" which his name in the supplements to Kanzul Ansab. He is the same Syed Murtaza, a brother of Syed Razi (RA) a compiler of “Nahajul-Balagha” and both were the students of Hazrat Sheikh Mufeed (RA). Shah Wilayat Al-Naqi, Al-Wasti popularly known as Dada Shahwilayat to the inhabitants of Amroha. There is a reason behind this familiar address, ('Dada' means 'paternal grandfather') as the people of Amroha are all descendants of Shahwilayat. ). His Dargah or tomb stands in a large enclosure filled with graves of his descendants. The tomb is a most interesting place as within the temple area scorpions inflict no harm.
