[edit] Re: Talk Page
Hey, there! Named users (that is, users with accounts) can start pages just by navigating to them (whether manually, or by following a link), and adding text. For instance, right now I've just created your user talk page by placing this message here. Please do consider whether the page will be useful, but always remember that one of our guiding philosophies, and our motto for new users in particular, is to be bold when editing pages! Also, new paragraphs can be started by skipping two lines.
Like this. If you're ever confused about how a page is formatted, you can have a gander at Wikipedia:Tutorial, or just find a page you like and click the "edit" link, so you can have a look at its source. So, hope that answers a few of your questions. You can always let me know if you need help with anything, and I'll respond as soon as I'm able. Failing that, you can place {{helpme}} on your user talk page, or visit the new contributors' help page. Happy editing! Luna Santin 08:16, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

2nd warning - this article already exists. Creating a duplicate article violates policy. If you persist, you may be blocked for vandalism. If there is a specific reason why this article should exist separately, please post it on the article's talk page. Rklawton 23:48, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Images4.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Images4.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:05, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] RE: Hello
"I read your user page on accents. Good stuff - true stuff. I'm a fan of both Australia and New Zealand and there are noticable differences between accents. There is, however, some Australian lingo that I don't quite understand. Nothing comes to mind at present but if you could shed some light on your slang that would be great"
What exactly would you like to know? Dac 05:45, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- Anything from the word 'bathroom' to common profanity. --SacredVisions 21:32, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- The term "Bathroom" is used basically to only apply to a room that actually has a bath (or alternatively a shower, or both) in it. For the toilet, we call it a list of things...toilet, dunny, the John, shithouse, commode, essentially any name it has except for bathroom. Curse words are generally the same, although we do have a couple of them that soften the blow. "Bugger", while still rude, is notably less rude than some other words. For a full list of Australian slang, check out this page, it has a lot of things to help.
But since Steve Irwin, no normal Australian has used the word "Crikey".

- Dude, stay the fuck off my talk page! --SacredVisions 20:54, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
I didn't put this section here, User:Slyder Pilot did. Keep in mind WP:CIVIL or you'll find yourself blocked. Rklawton 00:58, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
Indeed. Please also read the WP:OWN policy. You do not own your talk page, anyone may edit here. To reinforce RKlawton's message:
Warning: Please do not add obscenities to Wikipedia. Injecting unnecessary profanities, racially or sexually abusive comments, or provocative pictures to articles or user pages offends many people. Wikipedia treats such actions as vandalism and blocks people from editing for such repeated vandalism. Gwernol 01:00, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
You wrote on my talk page:
- Some profanity may crop up on my user page in the discussion of certain films and other media related areas. Is it considered inappropriate?
But you did not put obscenities on your user page while discussing certain films. You used them in a comment on RKLawton's talk page. That is not appropriate and you should stop doing it. You are required to remain civil at all times, particularly in your interactions with other users. Thanks, Gwernol 01:43, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
Maybe it's my fault for not signing the post, but then again, you should have looked in the history for who posted the first comment in this section. --Slyder PilotE@ 21:27, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Sorry to take so long to get back to you. RfA is usually shorthand for Wikipedia:Requests for adminship, the gauntlet any user must pass before gaining sysop priviledges. Luna Santin 12:56, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] very nice
Yes the Ten Commandments are wonderful. Sign your name with four tildes whenever you edit talkpages. Rama's arrow - this Fire burns always 15:56, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. - Perhaps its a lack of comprehension - sure, but from your side. WP:NPA includes attacking another editor's political and religious beliefs. Rama's arrow 00:10, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Images4.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Images4.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BrownCow • (how now?) 22:45, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Unblock
This IP address was blocked by user:Nishkid64. No one at this IP has committed vandalism. Please post the nature of the valdalism on this page.
- That's not true. Take a look Special:Contributions/146.235.66.52 and refer to the November 7 edits to Michelle Malkin. -- Netsnipe ► 04:03, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
- You were just a victim of shared IP abuse. If this ever happens again, be sure to request for unblocking, or you can contact your network administrator and request a new IP address. Nishkid64 23:46, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
- The IP vandal was just doing the basic: adding random nonsense, removing stuff, etc. Nishkid64 01:28, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
