Survivor Count: 49,590

A distraught woman named Sesha Abinell leads a small team of gunmen aboard the recreational ship Cloud Nine, and takes a group of bar patrons hostage. Among the patrons are Apollo and Petty Officer Anastasia Dualla (together on a date), Roslin's secretary Billy Keikeya (who finally realizes that Dualla has a serious interest in Apollo), and Ellen Tigh (who is there to socialize).

Sesha demands that Admiral Adama hand over the Cylon prisoner, Sharon Valerii, immediately or the hostages will die. Learning that Sesha wants revenge for the recent death of her husband in a Cylon attack, Adama refuses her demand. Once he learns his son is one of the hostages, he reconsiders, but President Laura Roslin believes that handing the Cylon over will make them look weak and they will lose control of the fleet to more terrorists.

Adama discovers that Capt. Starbuck and a group of marines are on Cloud Nine as well, and he orders them on a covert mission to storm the bar and take out the gunmen. The plan backfires, and Apollo is accidentally shot by Starbuck during the confusion. As Apollo lies dying, Billy plans to jump a gunman and take his weapon, but he is urged by Dualla not to be a hero.

Adama calls Sesha with an ultimatum; he will hand over the Cylon, but not alive. Sesha agrees, but Adama sends the frozen cadaver of the original Galactica-Boomer, while the pregnant Caprica-Boomer remains in her cell. Once the body arrives, one of the gunmen realizes it has been dead for weeks and they have been duped. Sesha orders the execution of Dualla, but Billy finally makes a move, grabbing the gun of one gunman and shooting the would-be executioner. The executioner also shoots and kills Billy. A squad of soldiers then storm the bar, kill the terrorists and free the hostages.

President Roslin mourns the death of Billy, as Dualla sits by Apollo's bed and waits for his recovery.
