The Sacred Heart Cathedral in Kamloops, British Columbia started as a Catholic Mission in 1876. It grew into a wooden framed building on the corner of Battle Street and 2nd Avenue in 1887, although it burned down in 1919. It was replaced by the current Romanesque structure in 1921.
