Sachse High School is a secondary school located in Sachse, Texas. The school covers grades 9 through 12 and is part of the Garland Independent School District.

[edit] Teams and Organizations

Despite being a new school, Sachse has already won four National Cheerleading Association Grand National Championships in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 along with winning the National Championship for the Small Coed Large Division in 2005.[1]

As well as an award winning cheerleading team, Sachse has an award winning band that made alternate for the State Marching Contest this past year. They competed in many competitions (DeSoto Marching Contest, Birdville Marching Contest, etc.) and have placed ahead of other very strong band programs. The band is under the direction of Allan Goodwin, Art Ruangtip, and John Robinson.

The Sachse Choir is also a very strong program and is growing at a strong rate every year.

The Sachse High School Academic Decathlon and Octathlon teams, under the coaching of Savonna Brockman, Debbie McCain and Lawren Taqui, are another growing team, although with a near-total change of team members every year they have yet to advance past the regional level.

The Sachse High School Debate Team never recovered after being run into the ground by a lack of funding and the hiring of Chris Smith. It should be noted that a school that finds the money to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on the band would not give a hundred dollars to the debate team for evidence.

[edit] School Colors

The school colors for Sachse are navy blue and white with a hint of orange.
