Sachs and Violens

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sachs and Violens was a four issue mini-series written by Peter David, with art by George Perez and published by Marvel's Epic Comics imprint from 1993 to 1994.

  1. Sachs and the single girl
  2. Safe Sachs
  3. Violens begets violence
  4. Violens in the streets

Part of the short-lived Heavy Hitters line, the book features a fair amount of violence and adult situations (the title itself is an obvious play on words), and as such it was recommended for mature readers.

The whole four issue series will be collected in a trade paper back by DC in December 2006.

[edit] The story

Juanita "J.J." Sachs is a model who does softcore photo shoots for her friend Ernie "Violens" Schultz, a former Vietnam War photojournalist. After her friend is viciously murdered in a snuff photo shoot, the two of them track down the people responsible, and in the process uncover an underworld of depravity, ending in a violent showdown in Mardi Gras.

Apart from their own mini-series, they have appeared on Peter David's creator-owned title, Fallen Angel, in 2005.
