[edit] HAVE YOU ASKED HER?
This young woman is, after the horror she went through, trying to lead a life as normal as possible. That she is - just within the scope of this horror - subject of an articke in Wikipedia MIGHT just be another horror to her! Can we do this - shouldn't she be asked for her consent? 81.246.186.208 20:33, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

HEY:
I JUST finished her book, literally minutes ago.... AMAZING! I can assure you, and read it yourself for verification, that this bland wikipedia article; short, polite, truncated, factual, and MILD in comparison to the book she herself wrote describing the whole thing, would have any shocking effect on her delicate sensibilities whatsoever.
In fact, she was SUCH a perky, spunky, plucky, witty, intelligent girl both during the ordeal and afterward SO much, that newspapers started the ridiculous rumor that maybe she wasn't all messed up and broken up about what happened only because she was still under the effect of the drugs that her abductor gave her the day he kidnapped her (years earlier), and that THAT must explain her focus, clarity, intensity, humor, optimism, perspective, and complete lack of being all hypersensitive, fu*cked up, and psychologically destroyed by what happened. [source: "I choose to live" by sabine dardenne, p. 177, paraphrased].
I am removing the well-intentioned but unnecessary "warning" at the top of this article, and if anyone chooses to put it back, it won't be anyone who has read this amazing, inspiring woman's book.
