S Castro Shuttle

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The S Castro Shuttle is a Muni Metro line in San Francisco, California. It runs from Embarcadero Station downtown to the Castro Street Station during peak periods on weekdays. The entire line is within the Market Street Subway. Because the southwest end of the line is in the Castro, a well-known gay village, it is sometimes called "The Gay Train" (probably a parody of the A train in New York City).

The S Castro Shuttle during the peak period will be replaced by the T Third Street line when it begins weekday operation on April 7, 2007.[1] However, will be used during the late-evenings as part of the Metro Improvement Project to take passengers from Embarcadero Station to Castro to connect to K Ingleside, L Taraval, and M Ocean View Shuttle Buses.
