'S.O.S.' was the second single from Agnetha Fältskog's fifth Swedish solo-album Elva kvinnor i ett hus. It was the only song from this album not to have been written by Fältskog herself.
Although Fältskog didn't promote the single at all, it peaked at no. 4 on January 1, 1976 during a 20-week chart run. On top of that it became Fältskog's third no. 1 Svensktoppen hit entering the charts November 22 for eleven weeks.
The B-side of this single, Visa I Åttonde Månaden was a very personal song because it was about Fältskog's pegnancy with her daughter Linda Ulvaeus in 1973.
