S. Wallace Dempsey

Stephen Wallace Dempsey (May 8, 1862 - March 1, 1949) was a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from New York.
Dempsey was born in Hartland, New York. He was an assistant United States Attorney from 1899 until 1907. He was a special assistant to the Attorney General of the United States from 1907 until 1912 and was in charge of the proseuction of Standard Oil and certain railroads. He was elected to Congress in 1914 and served from March 4, 1915 until March 3, 1931. He died in Washington, D.C..
