[edit] Album information

The project reunites Céline Dion and Jean-Jacques Goldman, who last worked together on the very successful album D'eux. In their first collaboration Goldman wrote songs for Dion, this time he wrote more in his own style, while letting Céline Dion sing her own unique way, like she has been singing a long time ago. Most of the arrangements on that album are simple to let her voice dominate the songs. In "Zora Sourit" and "Je Chanterai" Dion is backed by a gospel choir.

S'il Suffisait d'Aimer won the Juno Award for Best Selling Francophone Album.

Dion performed "Terre" live during the Gala de l'ADISQ in November 1998. She promoted this album also during her Let's Talk About Love Tour. The show at the Stade de France in Paris was recorded and released as Au Coeur Du Stade, including five songs from S'il Suffisait d'Aimer. It was promoted by the video of Céline Dion performing "Dans un Autre Monde."

Some tracks from from S'il Suffisait d'Aimer were featured on Dion's 2005 greatest hits album On Ne Change Pas. In addition, video from behind the scenes of the recording session of S'il Suffisait d'Aimer was included as a bonus on the Au Coeur Du Stade DVD.

The album was re-released in January 2004 as 2-CD set with D'eux. It was re-released again in September 2006 as 3-CD set with D'eux and 1 Fille & 4 Types.

S'il Suffisait d'Aimer became the second (after D'eux) French-language album to be certified gold in the United Kingdom. It was certified also in other non French-speaking countries. The album was promoted by successful French singles: "Zora Sourit" (#20; silver certification), title track "S'il Suffisait d'Aimer" (#4; gold certification), and "On Ne Change Pas" (#17).
