Sólstafir are an Icelandic viking/black metal band, formed in 1994. Their musical style primarily consists of fast upbeat rhythms, with a vocal style that sounds like black metal mixed with punk. They partially owe their success to Internet filesharing, having been noticed by Ketzer Records and Neodawn Productions, "through the marvels of the internet".[1]
