Coordinates: 23°51′10″S, 46°56′34″W São Lourenço da Serra (first part, Portuguese for Saint Lawrence) is a suburban municipality in the southern part of the São Paulo Metropolitan Region in the southeastern part of the state of São Paulo in Brazil. The population in 2003 was 14,607, the density was 54.52/km², and the area is 187 km². The southern part of the municipality are heavily forested with the Serra do Mar mountain range, the central and the northern parts are predominantly hilly and partially urbanized.

The neighborhood of Itapecerica da Serra became a municipality in 1991.
