São Francisco do Sul

São Francisco do Sul is a municipality in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina.

It covers an area of 493km 2 (190 square miles), and population was estimated to be 37,725 in 2005.

São Francisco do Sul is the third-oldest city of Brazil from the post-Columbian era. The city is situated on the northern end of the Island of São Francisco do Sul at the entrance to the Bay of Babitonga.
