Ryongrim is a kun, or county, in southeastern Chagang Province, North Korea. It borders Rangrim, Changjin, Chonchon, Tongsin, Taehung, and Songgan counties. The county is mainly alpine territory. It contains many mountain peaks, such as Wagal-bong (2,260m), Ch'ŏnŭimul-san (2,032m), Rangrim-san (2,186m), Milpuldŏk-san (1,577m), Ungŏsusan (2,020m), Toma-bong (1,525m), Paktal-san (1,817m), Taeda-san (1,463m), and Sonamsan (1,178m).

In the standard dialect of South Korea, Ryongrim loses its initial 'r' both in pronunciation and spelling. In addition, the second 'r' is assimilated in pronunciation to 'n' so that Ryongrim becomes Yongnim.
