Ryoga Echizen

Ryoga is Ryoma Echizen's adopted brother and adopted son of Nanjiro Echizen. He only appears in the movie, but the reason why he left the family is still unknown.

Ryoga looks very similar to Ryoma and Nanjiro Echizen even though he is adopted. He appears only in the movie Tennis no Ojisama - Futari no Samurai. He is the captain of Sakurafubuki Hikomaro's tennis team and often calls his brother "chibisuke" meaning shorty. Instead of Mada mada dane, he says Mada Mada daze meaning "not good enough." Ryoga first appeared in Tennis no Ojisama - Futari no Samurai, the first Prince of Tennis movie realeased in a flashback/dream sequence of Ryoma on a cruise ship. Throughout the length of the film, he's portrayed as a subbordinate of the main villain of the film, Sakurafubuki, a fraud who orchestrated gambling on fixed Tennis matches. However, near the end of the movie showed that he turned against Sakurafubuki and helped the Seigaku team out. Many speculate that he must have left at a very early date since Ryoma could hardly recall any memories of him. Ryoga has also forgot about his brother but when he saw a video of him playing tennis,he remembers from when he was younger, still eating oranges. When he was young, he always stole oranges from Echizen Ryoma.

Twist Serve (ツイスト サーブ) A serve that is completely different from how Echizen Ryoma does it and is used with Ryoga's right hand. The serve first goes in a twist then goes in the opposite direction from where the opponent hits. This serve is also Nanjioh Echizen's serve, personally taught by him.
