Ryan Seaton

Ryan Seaton is the lead singer for Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, a Southern Gospel quartet, since 2003.

Those who knew Ryan Seaton as a small child would find it hard to believe he was now performing on stage night after night before thousands of people. This quiet, shy, young man inherited a love for music from his mom, who sang in country Gospel groups and as a soloist most of her life; however, Ryan was always too shy to sing in public, until he was coaxed into joining the choir in the seventh grade by a pretty girl. That pretty girl, named Krista, would later become Ryan's wife and serve as a constant encouragement to Ryan as he continued to perfect his God-given vocal ability.

The Cynthiana, IN, native joined a barbershop quartet as a sophomore in high school and fell in love with four-part harmony. Shortly after high school graduation he had the opportunity to see his very first Gospel quartet, the Cathedrals, and instantaneously Ryan knew what he was destined to do. He met Ernie Haase, who was the tenor for the Cathedrals. The two developed a friendship, and Ernie encouraged Ryan to develop his talent and pursue his musical dreams. "I can still remember seeing this really tall, skinny kid showing up and smiling real big all the time," Ernie reflects. "Ryan sent me some songs of him singing and through the years I tried to help him with his vocal training."

After auditioning for several quartets, Ryan received the call from the Melody Boys Quartet. He traveled with the group for almost a year before receiving the call he had been waiting to receive. "Ernie called me and said, 'Are you ready to sing?' I didn't even have to think about that question. I was ready," Ryan recalls with a big smile.

When Ryan isn't on the road with Signature Sound, he and his wife, Krista, who married in December, 2004, enjoy spending time with family. Ryan has three nephews that he loves to visit as often as possible. The 26-year-old lead singer's life changed dramatically in 2006 when Krista gave birth to their first child, Olivia. The Seaton family will welcome another member in 2007, as Ryan and Krista anxiously await the arrival of baby number two.
