Ryan Palmer

Ryan Palmer is a chess player of Jamaican origin; he was the Jamaican National Champion in 1992 [1]. He now teaches mathematics at Adams' Grammar School in Newport, Shropshire. He runs various chess schools for youngsters during school holidays, and campaigns to increase numbers of young chess players. He is well known for his slogan "Chess is cool". He has trained many young chess champions including Tom Pym, one of the UK's most succesful young chess players. [2]
