[edit] Trivia
- He appeared in 3 animes in a row on the Saturday 6 p.m. timeslot on MBS and TBS, starting from Gundam Seed (GS, FMA, GSD). Interestingly, his character in GS (Andrew Waltfeld) was meant to be killed off. But the director kept the character as he's one of the few "cool adults" remaining. Andrew went on to play a significant role in GSD.
- Another coincidence here is that both Scar (Ryotaro's character in FMA) and Andrew were well-known for their scars.
- He has worked twice with Kaya Matsutani where both of their characters belonged to the same group, mostly Ryotaro's character possessed the higher position:
- In Flame of Recca, Ryotaro voiced Kurei, the leader of Uruha, while Kaya voiced Neon, a member of the Uruha Jyushinshuu.
- In Bleach, Ryotaro voiced Byakuya Kuchiki, Captain of 6th Division of Gotei 13, while Kaya voiced Rangiku Matsumoto, vice-captain of 10th Division of Gotei 13.
- There are two occasions where he and Crispin Freeman voices the same character: Oda Nobunaga in Kessen III, and Setzer Gabbiani in Kingdom Hearts II
- He and his best friend Midorikawa Hikaru have played a number of characters in numerous anime and in Kessen III. They either play teammates, friends, or rivals:
- Rukawa Kaede (Hikaru) and Mitsui Hisashi (Ryotaro) in Slam Dunk,
- Schuldig (Hikaru) and Crawford (Ryotaro) in Weiß Kreuz and Gluhen,
- Arai Togo (Hikaru) and Shimon Takagi (Ryotaro) in Sotsugyou M,
- Mitsuhide Akechi (Hikaru) and Oba Nobunaga (Ryotaro) in Kessen III,
- Mikagami Tokiya (Hikaru) and Kurei (Ryotaro) in Flame of Recca, and
- Heero Yuy (Hikaru) and Treize Kushrenada (Ryotaro) are among their most notable roles.
