Template talk:Rwandan Genocide
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Photo
I'm not sure that the photo is necessary for a navigational template. We already know that people died during the genocide, and the image can certainly be placed in the appropriate article in the series.
I dare say it also adds unnecessary bulk to the template, and should be removed for style reasons. Thoughts? If there are no objections, I'll remove it. For reference, here's what the two versions would look like:
|
Rwanda History of Rwanda |
Initial events Causes of the genocide Rwandan Players Role of the International Community Consequences of the Genocide |
Glossary and supplements Bibliography |

[edit] Comments regarding use of photo
My suggestion is above; what are people's thoughts? If we have trouble coming to any sort of conclusion, this can also be bounced to Requests for Comment. --TenOfAllTrades (talk/contrib) 22:56, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- I am fine with it being taken off and placed in an article. Cheers, BanyanTree 02:26, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- I like the photo... but just because I think the template code is not very pretty... so, I think it would be good to maybe fix the coding a little so you don't need a picture... but, I'm not a big editor here so I'm not going to complain no matter what happens. A further noteāour article Rwandan genocide already contains a similar photo: Image:Rwandan_Genocide_Murambi_bodies.jpg, at right. The latter photo is definitely public domain; the photo in question above is from Commons but its copyright status is not entirely clear. I'm going to ease off what's very nearly a duplicated image, unless someone sees a place in the articles where it's necessary. --TenOfAllTrades (talk/contrib) 03:02, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)
