Ruthven, Highland

Ruthven, Invernessshire (Scottish Gaelic: Ruadhainn) is a small settlement, 43 miles to the south of Inverness in Scotland near Kingussie. It is best known for the Ruthven Barracks which are nearby. James MacPherson who wrote Ossian was born here in 1736.

Loch Ruthven is named for this area.
