[edit] License tagging for Image:Flag RUS Emperor.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Flag RUS Emperor.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 09:04, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:1991 Adelaide Schumacher.jpg
Hi. You recently added Image:1991 Adelaide Schumacher.jpg to the Michael Schumacher article. The copyright information on the image's page is rather confused - it is listed as coming under the copyright rules for money, as being under a creative commons license and as being copyrighted to Schegelmich (presumably the photographer). Looking at the website it came from, the image appears to be copyright of the Formula One Association and I can't see anything to indicate that we have been given permission to reproduce it in Wikipedia. I have asked that the image be deleted and have reverted the Michael Schumacher article to its previous version. See Wikipedia:Image use policy. Cheers. 4u1e 07:35, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Copyright violation
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Dauer 962 LeMans article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
Feel free to re-submit a new version of the article. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."
You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. TomTheHand 22:34, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Dauer962lm.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Dauer962lm.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECU≈talk 02:19, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
