The Library and archives have photos of the fire and the demolition, and date both to 1927. See [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], and [6]. Lupo 10:21, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

The shoebox article is now archived, but it did say the fire was in 1928. However, I'm more willing to believe the multiple archive pages, and have thus changed the date. - SimonP 16:22, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
