Russian battleship Slava

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Slava (Слава) was a Pre-Dreadnought battleship built for the Imperial Russian Navy, she was the last ship of the Borodino class battleships and the only one of the five ships not to be sunk at the Battle of Tsushima (note that she did not participate in Tsushima).

She was built by Baltic Works (St.Petersburg). Laid down October 1902, launched August 1903, completed June 1905. "Slava" is the Russian for "glory". Completed too late to serve in the Russo-Japanese War. Served in the Baltic during World War I. Scuttled after sustaining heavy damage from SMS Konig during the Battle of Moon Sound on 17 October 1917.
