The Military Space Forces of Russian Federation are the branch of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation responsible for military space operations. They share control of the Baikonur Cosmodrome with the Russian Federal Space Agency.

The main tasks of Russian Space Forces are:

informing the higher political leaders and military commanders about missile attack as soon as possible;
anti-missile defence;
creation, deployment, maintenance and control of in-orbit group of space vehicles.
