Russell Shorto

Russell Shorto is the author of a book on the Dutch origins of New York City: The Island at the Center of the World. He often writes for The New York Times Magazine and GQ. He also wrote Gospel Truth and Saints and Madmen. The research for his book about New Amsterdam took him three years.
