Russell Barkley

Russell A. Barkley, Ph.D., is a Research Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University. He has been involved in research since 1973 and has been a licensed Psychologist since 1977. He is an expert in ADHD and has devoted his entire scientific career to studying ADHD in children. He received his first citation for his clinical studies on the effects of medication on ADHD child back in 1977. His research also include childhood defiancy. He has more than 180 scientific papers in the area, and has authored 15 books. Barkley is also the editor of The ADHD Report and over time has taken on an increasingly greater role in educating the general public about ADHD.
