The school's mascot is a lion. The school colors are green and gold and is home to the Royal Comets. Before the Sperry building became the district's lone high school, Roth, one of the district's two current middle schools, was also a high school. During this time period, the two high school represented themselves as the Sperry Comets and the Roth Royals. With the change to a single high school came the merger of the two nicknames.
