[edit] Plots
[edit] Runaway Pants
It's the fitness exam today at Billy and Mandy's school, and Nergal Jr. comes to compete in it as well. Since he can change his shape (muscular or regular), the exam was a breeze for him. The last part of the exam is a jogging contest, so Billy asks Nergal Jr. to transform into some pants. Billy starts running at awesome speed... but there's one problem, he can't stop! So he runs all around the world! At the end, however, all major characters from the episode appeared and attacked the narrator, revealing that the whole episode was actually a lie.
[edit] Scythe 2.0.
After Grim had fun "gardening", he damaged his scythe. When he tried to repair it by himself the scythe broke, so he brought his scythe to "F" for a repair. When he came to F's laboratory he was amazed how things have changed since his last visit. His scythe is two thousand years old. F told Grim that his scythe is ancient and showed him the new model - "Scythe 2.0, the new generation of Grim Reaping". Scythe 2.0. is automatic, it has new modernised look and can be controlled by voice. Grim still wanted his old scythe, but he took Scythe 2.0. for a test run. At home, Grim realised that he can just command Scythe 2.0. to do "his" chores and finish with them, but Scythe 2.0. wasn't very happy about it.
[edit] End Credits
F introduces the Mask of Terror to Grim and Mandy. The mask tries to scare Mandy, but she stares back. It screams in fear and cries. Then the escape pod launches. F wonders if Mandy is "One of ours".
[edit] Trivia and Notes
- Runaway Pants begins with the narrator from The Twilight Zone, who described it as "Billy Zone". He tells the bizarre events that occur in the episode.
- Irwin had a strong and toned body, but when the kids were working out, Irwin was back to his normal, fat self and couldn't do any of the exercise.
- In the school yard, the cooler on the bench is labeled "Alligator Aid", which is a reference to the sports drink "Gatorade”.
- Abraham Lincoln's animated version is similar to Evil Con Carne. While Grim, Billy, and Mandy went down the elevator to visit F, you'll notice that Grim has a second human version of himself. Different from the one in Night of the Living Grim.
- First time Mandy thinks Billy's idea (turning Nergal Junior into pants) is brilliant.
- This episode has the same Mandy opening from Test of Time.
- First time Nergal Junior morphs into something other than humans and / or animals.
- Mandy says (when irwin got buffed up) that if he'd do the same thing with his personality then they'd talk.
- The Doombuggy is a reference to the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland, sharing the name of the ride vehicle.
- Scythe 2.0 is voiced by William Daniels, who was also the voice actor of KITT, a cybernetic car that could talk, in Knight Rider. KITT also shares the same shifting red LED light as Scythe 2.0.
- Grim day dreams of Billys head exploding in "runaway pants" and says "sweet dreams are made of this" a reference to The Eurythmics song "sweet dreams (are made of this)"
- F resembles Q from 007, as they both grant spy technology to the main characters.
- Scythe2.0 appears as a long range item in the video game. It fires red, hot lasers.
