[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/North Carolina Tigers

Hello Rulesfan. The result of the deletion debate was that the Tigers are not notable enough of their own right to warrant and article, so the relevant info should be placed in the United States Australian Football League. Thanks, Blnguyen | rant-line 04:37, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject AFL Hi mate, if you're a fan of Aussie rules, I suggest you take a look at WikiProject AFL (join by adding your name to the list of participants) and the Australian rules football portal. Also take a look at Category:VFL/AFL players and feel free to drop me a line with any questions, or on the WP:AFL discussion page. Cheers!

[edit] License tagging for Image:Ben holland.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Ben holland.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 01:04, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template:Wikify AFL

I saw you made that template. Its a nice idea but we already have no end of cleanup templates - one more specialist one isnt goign to help really. Us guys at WP:WWF feel that one wikify template is the limit for us. Sorry. The template was redirected to {{wikify}} so it will work in the same way as that tag. Cheers, and keep up the good work! --Errant Tmorton166(Talk)(Review me) 09:31, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

The Original Barnstar
Nice work on adding information, expanding articles and most importantly, adding images of many Australian rules footballers. Good work mate, Rogerthat Talk 11:51, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] O'Dwyer quote

To delete correct and fully referenced information from an article is very bad form. Furthermore, you took the O'Dwyer quote from Australian rules football, without pointing it out in either the edit summary or on the talk page. That is sneaky and very bad manners. Especially as you knew my reasons for putting it there -- we had just discussed it at Talk:Gaelic football and you did not object. You may not agree with O'Dwyer's point of view but you can't deny that it is a POV that is held by many people in Australia and Ireland. Grant65 | Talk 12:35, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks mate for your 2 cents, but I think you should write about things that you actually know something about. --Rulesfan 02:34, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Spam

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. // Pilotguy (Cleared to land) 03:54, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

You have been temporarily blocked from editing Wikipedia for continuing to add spam links. If you wish to make useful contributions, you are welcome to come back after the block expires. Persistent spammers will have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia. — — Eagle (ask me for help) 03:57, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | unblock | contribs) asked to be unblocked, but an administrator or other user has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators or users can also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). This unblock request continues to be visible. Do not replace this message with another unblock request nor add another unblock request.

Request reason: "I wasn't spamming, I was adding a link to World Footy News, which is widely recognised the best independent source of news and information for Australian rules football around the world. This is useful supplementary information for people interested in the subject and added to relevant pages only."

Decline reason: "That's your opinion. Unless an external link is being cited as an article reference or is the subject of the article itself, it does not belong on Wikipedia. You were warned about this twice. If you continue to violate our policies including Wikipedia:External links you will be reblocked. --  Netsnipe  ►  01:03, 24 November 2006 (UTC)"

[edit] Sunday Football League

a couple of issues with this article...

  1. could you move it to a less generic name - I am sure there are Sunday Football Leagues worldwide which probably have more participaton than this minor amateur league in WA
  2. could you please assert some notability to the subject of the article. That it exists is pretty poor
  3. could you please attribute your contributions. unattributed content may be removed by any editor.
