Rui Jorge

Rui Jorge de Sousa Dias Macedo de Oliveira, OIH (pron. IPA: [ʁui 'ʒɔɾʒ(ɨ)]), known by Rui Jorge, (born March 27, 1973 in Vila Nova de Gaia) is a Portuguese football player.

He was, as a left-defender, a leading player at FC Porto, but he only become a regular at Portugal, after moving to Sporting Lisbon, in 1998/99, were he remained until 2004/05, winning two titles of National Champion.

He played for the U-21 Portugal, who lost the Euro 1994 final to Italy (1-2) and for the Olympic National Team who reached the 4th place at the Olympic Games football tournament, in Atlanta, 1996.

He also played for 3 years, before retiring from a severe knee injury. Now, he takes up golf, and has just recovered from a broken rib. Even though he has been retired for a fairly long time, he still has some moves. (Hey Rui, I wrote this! Tee hee! P.S. editors please don't take off this whole thing just because of this part, just edit this part. I know him, and all of this is true. Also, this has to be partly wrong you didnt play FIFA 2004, but whatever)

He had 41 caps for Portugal, 2 for FC Porto, and 39 for Sporting. Is first game was a 0-0 draw with Norway, at 20 April 1994, in a friendly match. He played at Euro 2000, the 2002 FIFA World Cup, and Euro 2004. He is currently attached to CF "Os Belenenses".
