Fringeleaf wild petunia or aka Low Ruellia (syn. Ruellia ciliosa Pursh var. longiflora Gray, Ruellia humilis Nutt. var. calvescens Fern., Ruellia humilis Nutt. var. depauperata Tharp & Barkl., Ruellia humilis Nutt. var. expansa Fern., Ruellia humilis Nutt. var. frondosa Fern., and Ruellia humilis Nutt. var. longiflora (Gray) Fern.) is an ornamental plant native of Cerrado vegetation of Brazil, and USA, where it is endangered. This plant is cited in Flora Brasiliensis by Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius.
