Ruellia asperula (syn. Stephanophysum asperulum Mart. & Nees) is a medicinal plant native to Brazil and classified as Caatinga vegetation and Cerrado vegetation. Flowers, leaves, and roots of this plant are usually macerated and used to treat asthma, bronchitis, fever, flu, and uteral inflammation.
