Rudolf Lunebherg is an early mathematical psychophysicist. He proposed that visual space has a Hyperbolic Reimannian curvature in 1946. Subsequent experimentation (Indowe and Watanbe 1981) has shown this to be likely true. THis is a matter of consequence for cognitive science, vision science, robotics, and psychophysics The proposed curvature is shown to be a function of binocularity and a measure of depth based on disparity. The agreement with experiment suggests the majority of our depth perception is a function of these variables.
