I don't think endemic is the proper term, since there is a separate term for animals: enzootic. On that grounds, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a different term for plants as well.

 enzootic refers to something being endemic to a particular species of animal. Usually used to refer to diseases. AIDS is enzootic to humans, for example. --143.48.119.25 23:39, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
